Solidarity Tour 2012: Canada to Bolivia

Solidarity: “union or fellowship arising from common responsibilities and interests, as between members of a group or between classes, peoples, etc.” (Dictionary.com)

On February 17th, 15 Canadians will travel to Bolivia, South America for two weeks. Our mission: to build solidarity ~ solidaridad en español.

Our team will visit three of Chalice’s sponsor sites: Yapacani (125 km NE of Santa Cruz, Bolivia), Guadalupe (La Paz, Bolivia) and a quick stop at PINIFE (Lima, Peru) enroute to Bolivia. We will see, hear, touch, smell and taste life as it is experienced at these sponsor sites. We will witness the impact sponsorship has on the lives of children, their families and their communities. Some of the benefits of sponsorship will be made tangible; others will only be felt by the heart.

Will YOU be in solidarity with us?

Pray for our Team: Adrienne, Annette, Cassie, Diana, Geoff, Jerry, Joanne, Karin, Kristin, Linda, MaryAnne, Nicola, Trevor, Willie, Yvonne.

Visit our website (www.chalice.ca) and follow this blog for daily updates during our Tour. You will see photos and videos of our friends and hear about our day-to-day activities. Also, if your sponsor child’s ID begins with PIN, YAP or GDL, we will be visiting his or her sponsor site.

Support our fundraising goals to:
• Sponsor 50 new children
• Raise $15 000 towards a Housing Project (building and repair of homes)

To make a donation, call our office at 1-800-776-6855 or visit www.chalice.ca and click on “Bolivia Solidarity Tour 2012”. You will find children from our Yapacani Site waiting for sponsorship. You can also read letters written by families who will benefit from our Housing Project.

Thank you for your support, a tangible expression of your solidarity.
